Music To Eat

An Eclectic Gastronomy of Sound

Sunday Brunch: May 27, 2012

This week’s roundup of new menu items hot off the stove includes some lush sounds (Violens, Saint Lou Lou) to start off and then some more folky down-home sounds (First Aid Kit, Paul McCartney)Two sister duo’s too – Saint Lou Lou are twins and the daughters of Steve Kilbey, lead singer/lyricist/bassist of The Church; while First Aid Kit are also sisters. Though not twins, I don’t think. I’m not sure if that will harm or help their music career…. Strangely enough, both duo’s are from Sweden. Must be something in the water.

Violens
– “Sariza Spring” (from True, 2012):

Saint Lou Lou– “Maybe You”  (single- no album yet, 2012):

First Aid Kit– “Emmylou” (from The Lion’s Roar, 2012):

Paul and Linda McCartney– “Heart of the Country” (from the new re-issued, remastered Ram, 2012 – original 1970):
