Sunday Brunch: June 17, 2012

We’re gettin’ a little arty and a little freaky at brunch today.  Did someone spike the cappuccino?

iamamiwhoiam– “Play” (from Kin, 2012) (Why does she strike me as Kate Bush’s evil, half-insane sister? Check out her other videos on youtube and you’ll see what I mean.)

Can – “Millionenspiel” (from The Lost Tapes, 2012) (tracks recorded 1968-1977):

Steve Kilbey– “Art Speaks in Tongues” (from Vivid, 2012)

Donnie & Joe Emerson– “Baby” (from Dreamin’ Wild, 2012 reissue, original 1979):

Wilco – “Me Avive” (Spanish version of “Dawned On Me”) (single, 2012):

ha ha iamami…is a trip! Your description is perfect. I liked the song Baby waaaay better than the album cover, would never have imagined it would sound that good.

I know – that album cover is NOT descriptive of the music. The background about the album on the Light in the Attic website is interesting: the two brothers’ father built them their own recording studio on the farm they lived on and they recorded everything and played everything themselves, fueled by late night soul radio stations.
    And iamamiwhoiam is strangely addictive…
